September Favorites + Looking Ahead

September was a long, long month.

Personal - September Recap

Like I said above... long, long month. The days seemed to drag on just as much as the weeks did. I feel like this is always how September is. It's that weird time of year where no one knows if it's summer or fall. Everyone's confused on how to dress, what to wear, and even Mother Nature had no idea what she wanted. It was 95 degrees last Saturday when I was at the Tennessee game, yet we barely broke 67 degrees in DC this week.

September brought a lot of fun things. I traveled out to Virginia Wine Country to hangout with three of my best friends, went apple picking, traveled to Knoxville, the VOLS crushed the Florida Gators, and I finally presented the charity check from this past April's Taste of the South Gala.

Aside from the events and trips, September was a great one for me personally. I started reading a lot more, cooking dinner at home more often, and the one thing I'm most proud of, going to Church as much as I could. I've been loving my National Community Church family. I've been going since the beginning of August, and have also been attending a Tuesday and Wednesday morning devotional with fellow young professionals. I'm thinking of doing a post on this sometime soon for those who are interested.

Blogging - September Recap

Like you'll read below, I finally felt like I got my blogging motivation back this month. I'm really excited about the posts I shared, as well as the outfit content. It's amazing to look back at the posts I shared this time last year, and see the drastic improvement in photo quality and post content.

I'll be recapping a few of my favorite posts from September below!

Favorite September Posts

This past month I finally felt like I was back in my blogging groove. The motivation and inspiration was flowing, and I began securing a few really exciting collaborations and partnerships for the rest of 2016. Can y'all believe that?! I mean, it's crazy how this year is almost over!

I can honestly say that I was really proud of the content I produced this month! It was mostly style inspo and outfit posts; the most I've shared in several months! I had a few exciting collabs with Stewart Simmons, Swoozies and began a three part series with ten other fabulous bloggers. Some of my favorite September posts were:

How to Blog with a Full Time Job (outfit post)
Football Friday: Styling Orange Part I and Part II (outfit posts)

Personal - What's coming up for October

There will be lots of football watching, traveling and fun events around DC in October. Depending on how today's football game goes for Tennessee, I may travel back to Knoxville the middle of October to attend the Tennessee vs. Alabama game. It would be so nice to be back in my home state for another weekend!

I also plan to just enjoy all that October has to offer, including the fall activities and events. I want to soak it all up; everything from trying new fall recipes, heading out to the pumpkin patch, maybe another winery trip, hosting a few football game watch parties, and gearing up for Halloween. I love Halloween, ha. It's actually one of my favorite holidays. I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for the Washington Nationals Baseball team to make it to the world series. This town goes crazy during playoff season, so it'd be exciting to attend a few games this month as well!

Blogging - What's coming up for October

Fall content, especially October's, is my favorite. No surprise there, ha! I have so many fun posts planned for y'all, including a lot more style inspiration. I took photos with my friend Rosa a few weeks ago, and still need to share the majority of those with you.

I also plan to feature some new home decor and entertaining posts, and a few beauty related posts. Y'all really seemed to love the Best Mascaras under $25, so I want to breakdown my favorite beauty products into a few individualized posts... think, favorite products for my face, lipsticks, nail polishes and more. If there's a particular one you want to see, let me know!

I'll also be spending the month gearing up for a few events I'll be hosting in November and December. More details will follow regarding those soon. I can't wait to share!

Finally, here are a few products I loved using or wearing this month:

Enjoy your weekend!!
