While I go the less is more route for my daily makeup look, one thing I never skip out on is my mascara. A good eye shadow, liner and mascara can instantly transform you from waking up to ready for work!
In order to find the best bang for your buck mascara, I tried out a few name brand mascaras that are all under $25!! I tried everything from waterproof, to volumizing, to your simple mascara that's $5.99. See what I thought about each one below!
L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Feline Mascara (c/o) | I was first introduced to this mascara at the recent Blog Societies Conference. L'Oréal was one of the conference sponsors, and hosted a fun makeup suite where they taught us how to get that perfect cat eye. This particular mascara gets my vote for best packaging obviously, but I love how it glides on smoothly, without all the clumping. Bonus, it's under $10 and can be found at your local Target.
It Cosmetics Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara (c/o) | I have tried this one several times over the past year. One of my favorite things about it, is that at the end of the brush it has a cluster of smaller bristles that are perfect for getting in those inner eye creases and hard to reach spots. While I do like this aspect of this particular mascara, the price doesn't make me want to reach out and purchase it consistently. Especially when It Cosmetics has another mascara on the market that I LOVE so much better. Read on to find out which one that is.
BareMinerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara (c/o) | This was definitely my least favorite. I just didn't see anything special about it that made it stand out, to be honest. I also started getting extremely watery eyes and irritation after use of this. It's probably an ingredient in the product that I'm sensitive to. So needless to say, I won't be using or purchasing this one again.
It Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara (c/o) | This gets my vote for the perfect weekend mascara. Since this one is a tad pricier than the others, I'd rather not blow through this one. Thus I save it for the weekends, blog photos or special occasions. It's just amazing. Do note that the first few times you use it, it can get a little clumpy. So just dab a little off on a Klennex before applying. Otherwise, I love how it extends my lashes and has a very dark tent that helps them stand out.
Cover Girl LashBlast Fusion Mascara | Another one you can easily find at your local Target. I do like this one, but once again it didn't really do anything to stand out. I also feel like the bristles didn't really hold a lot of product, so I had to apply multiple coats to achieve the thickness that I like.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara | This is my favorite! It's inexpensive, yet does the same job as an expensive brand. I wear this one daily to work, and it's also the one I'm wearing in the above photo. I only have to apply one coat, ONE COAT, in order to achieve thickness, darkness and that volumizing set of lashes that make my eyes pop. I highly recommend this one for your budget friendly buy!
While some of these products were gifted for me to try, all photos and opinions are my own.
