Now that my birthday has past, Labor Day Weekend is over and football is finally back, it is officially time to enter the fall mindset. Fall is by far my favorite season (you'll hear me say that A LOT over the next few months). So basic, I know. To me, it literally is the perfect season filled with all of my favorite things. While we'd be here all day if I attempted to list all of those out for you, I'll save you the time and focus today's post on just one of those. The fall wardrobe. My entire closet grows about three times the size once the cooler temps roll around. It's just so much more fun to mix and match colors with bold prints and blanket scarves. That is, in my opinion (a little The Good Wife reference there for you).

While I'm going to hold off on the fall outfit posts for a few more days, I wanted to ease into the transition by showing y'all a look that you can wear now and then transition into the first few weeks of fall. It's still well into the 90s here in DC after all.

For now: I chose this lightweight dress from LOFT (similar option here and here) that I picked up last season. I like how simple it is. You can literally dress it up any way you like. While the temps are still very warm, I will wear this dress with a summer sandal, simple gold accessories and a hint of fall in my oxblood bag.

In a month or so: As the temps start to cool, I would transition this dress by either pairing it with an oversized blanket scarf and booties OR a jacket, booties and a hat. The accessory options are literally endless!

I hope this outfit gave y'all a little inspo on how to fade your summer outfit into fall!
