A word that rhymes with nothing and a color that can almost be impossible to style. Really though. There are so many shades, tones and variations of the color. Some of which can encroach on that "not so flattering" line. I normally don't wear orange a lot, aside from one exception of course... Tennessee game day. Or anything related to The University of Tennessee really.
I'm sure all my fellow Vols fans can attest that finding orange clothing, albeit the RIGHT shade of orange, can be harder than finding a needle in a haystack. But my friends, we're not alone. Did you know there are quite a few other universities that have to combat the same problem? Thus, a new style series was born...
Football Friday: Styling Orange
I teamed up (adding in a little football reference here) with a fabulous group of bloggers, all who represent major schools with the color orange. See Volunteers, we're not alone!
The eleven of us have teamed up to share a three part series throughout this football season. All geared toward giving our fellow orange football fans some game day outfit inspo! Our first post of the series is today, and the following two will be shared on Friday, September 30th and Friday, October 21st. We wanted to spread things out so that our outfits can adapt to the changing seasons and temperatures.
Checkout the other lovely ladies who are participating in the Football Friday series below, along with the schools they're representing! And then scroll on further for more of my Big Orange Friday game day look + outfit details.
For my first Football Friday game day look, I wanted to feature something that would work well with the humid temps that are still looming around, especially in the South.
This gorgeous dress is another gem from Stewart Simmons. Remember last week's scalloped seersucker skirt?
This dress (get 20% off with code PRIMPFAN) is perfect for game days during the month of September. Since it's still humid and very hot, I wanted a lightweight dress that was breathable. And this dress is just that! The fabric isn't heavy, and I love the V cutout in the back of the dress. It's simple, yet the white striped backing adds a little unexpected pop! I also love how it cinches at the waist. Let's be honest, on game days no one wants a body hugging shirt or dress. So the cut of this dress allows you to sneak in those extra hot wings and beers at the tailgate, ha!
To finish off the look I added a few Orange and White accessories in my handbag, Draper James Keychain, and Kendra Scott accessories.
Oh, and of course I had to get a few little Tennessee references in my look with my pendent state necklace and Knox Thomas Designs Coordinates Bracelet (c/o). Bet you can't guess where these coordinates go to? Yep, they're the geological coordinates of Neyland Football Stadium!!! How cool is that?!
