Spring Layers

Navy and White Gingham Oxford: J.Crew Factory | Gray Wrap Cardigan: LOFT (old, similar)

Over the Weekend the temps dropped drastically. Friday we started the weekend with 82 degrees, but by the time Sunday night arrived, we were well into the low 40s. Crazy how just a few hours can be so different temperature wise.

I feel like spring is the epitome of changing temps. When I leave the apartment in the morning and walk to work, it'll be in the low 40s. So cool, especially when the wind is added. But by the afternoon, temps have warmed up into the high 60s or low 70s for the walk home. How are you supposed to dress with fast changing weather like that?! It's called layers. Layers allow you to adjust your outfit along with the temperature changes.

So for a casual work look or weekend outfit, I pulled a fall fave with this gray LOFT cardigan. I paired it with a navy and white check gingham button down. I can wear the cardigan over my top for the morning walk to work, but remove the layer for the evening walk home.

The great thing to is that this entire outfit I already owned. I pulled pieces from different seasons and paired them together for the perfect spring layer look. It'll take me from morning to night!

How cute is my adorable photo shoot companion, Lucy?! Okay, so she's not my dog sadly. I would love nothing more than to have a furry pet, it's just not the right time for me unfortunately. BUT I was so excited to "borrow" Nicole's dog while she setup the camera and adjusted the lighting settings. I think we took like 20 of these shots before we got one that Lucy finally looked at the camera. How precious is she?!

  1. I think the hardest part for me is wanting to dress for the warmer temperatures but also being aware that my office is FREEZING. I love this look! Definitely the spring outfit inspiration I need. Have a great week!

  2. This is a great casual weekend look! I have no clue what to wear anymore. I've just been layering and removing as the temps change. So annoying.

    1. Thank you!! I know, I totally am right there with you. Spring is the hardest season to dress for I feel like. Cause you want to wear warm weather clothes, but it's rarely warm. HA
