The morning has finally come, where my three sweet friends and I journey to the Big Apple for four days of fashion.
If you told me a year ago that I'd be spending President's Weekend 2016 in New York City for Fashion Week, I probably would have laughed and said "only in my dreams." Attending Fashion Week always seemed like a dream, or something I'd only be watching from the comfort of my couch and behind a computer screen. Even as I'm training up to NYC this morning, I still feel like it's a dream.
Let me get real here for a second. I started blogging two years ago. I never even incorporated fashion or outfit posts at first. It wasn't till five months or so in that I posted my first outfit. And let's be honest. It was awful. Bad outfit. Bad photos. Bad editing. Just plain terrible.
Since then, I've grown leaps and bounds. My outfits are more on trend. My photos are professionally taken and edited. I still have PLENTY more hurdles to jump, but I see the light. I see the potential that I can bring to this little ole site of mine.
But this past week, I still felt like I didn't belong in fashion. That I wasn't deserving of a seat at the Marissa Webb show or a ticket to the Kate Spade Presentation. Why me? Why am I going? I honestly had a huge moment of weakness this week. Zero excitement. Zero confidence. Then, a great friend reminded me that we all have to start somewhere.
It's like the wise man once said, "we started from the bottom, now we here." Okay, so that wise man was rapper Drake, but they have never been more true. We all have to start somewhere. Everyone starts at a "bottom point." No matter what the path you're trying to navigate is. When it comes to my day job, I feel so confident and successful. Like I made it exactly where I wanted to be. But when it comes to blogging, I feel so lost and far behind at times. But like my friend and Drake said, the path begins at the bottom. And I'm seeing that bottom get further and further in the distance. The fact that I'm in New York City this weekend is reassurance enough.
Now that we've had a "real moment" today, let's get back to some fun info.
I spent quite a few hours packing the past few nights and excited to share what I'll be wearing throughout the weekend on Instagram. So make sure you're following along there, Twitter and Facebook. I also am FINALLY opening up my Snapchat to you all. I've been hesitant to do this for many reasons, but finally decided. What the heck? So follow along at 'kroyster815' -- don't make fun. I created snapchat years ago when it first came out and apparently you can't change your username?! I should have known better. lol
So to make things easier, here are all my social media handles and links:

Finally, here's a sneak at what I've packed for the trip:
