But now, onto what the true purpose of today's post is...
I'm not going to lie... 2015 has been the year of really high highs and really low lows. I've had some amazing moments, made some wonderful new friends and all the while had some really crappy hardships I had to face. I'm sure I'm not alone. Each year brings about its challenges for everyone, but it's how we use those hardships that make us a better person.
Some of these hardships I've shared with y'all on here, and others I've kept to myself. I mean, I gotta keep some things private y'all. But I've shared what I have with you all, in hopes that someone else out there who is going through the same thing, can know that they aren't alone! This year has brought its challenges, a true heartbreak, and the loss of a true American hero and my grandfather.
Through these negatives, I have gained many positives. From heartbreak, I learned what I truly want in a relationship and know exactly what I don't. My heart has grown stronger and able to handle whomever comes my way next. Through loss, I have learned to treasure the small moments with loved ones more. And I am thankful for the many years I was able to spend with my grandfather and the countless memories I made with him.
But this year hasn't been spent entirely with challenges, it has also brought some exceptionally wonderful moments as well.
I couldn't be happier or more thankful for the friendships that I have. I have so many wonderful groups of friends, both here in DC and back home in Tennessee. I was blessed with getting to see pretty much every one of my dear friends this year!
I also couldn't be more thankful that this little ole blog has brought some of the best friends in my life. I never in a million years would imagine that some of the friends I've made through blogging, are now some of my closest and best friends here in DC. I am very thankful for that and for their true friendships!
I am thankful for my wonderful family, who supports all my dreams and crazy ideas. I am thankful for my health and safety. I am thankful for a job that I love, and to have a supportive work family. I am thankful that this once hobby of blogging, has turned into so much more over the past year. And I am thankful for all the exciting plans that are yet to come.
As I look ahead to the new year, I already have so many exciting things planned. Everything from holiday parties and events, Christmas break spent at Disney and Universal Studios, to New Years Eve here in DC and my first trip to New York Fashion Week in February. It's going to be an exciting few months ahead!
None of this would be possible though without my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He has afforded me all of these opportunities and blessings of friendships, and I cannot thank Him enough this holiday season!!
And my last thank you? Is to all of YOU!!! Thank you for supporting me over the almost two years, thank you for reading my weekly posts, and THANK YOU for your countless words of encouragement, tweets, comments & more! While I can't always reply to everyone, just know that I truly thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I hope that each and every one of y'all have a blessed, and safe, Thanksgiving break and time spent with loved ones!
