Gallery Wall

I'm really excited to share this post with y'all! When I find a company that I enjoy working with as much as I love their products, I tend to latch on. Finding a brand that is super helpful, has excellent customer service, and never disappoints, is truly hard these days. Seriously.

One such company for me is Minted.

I've used Minted many, many times in the past. They did the invites for my best friend's bridal shower. They produced my blog business cards. I've ordered framed artwork from them before. And Minted is where I get my Christmas cards each year. No joke.

One of the main reasons I keep going back is their exceptional customer service and being able to tailor each order to exactly what I want. If it's not offered on their site. Ask. You'll get a prompt response and generally the answer is yes. Most of the time without an additional fee!

While I love using Minted for all my paper product needs, they also offer artwork and frame services.

Recently I've had this itch to create another gallery wall in my bedroom. Gallery walls seem to be all the rage right now, so why not jump on that bandwagon.

It was perfect timing that Minted contacted me about their newest prints and artwork. While I already own a few prints from Minted, I jumped at the chance to add some of their newest pieces to my wall. I have this awkward space right next to my bed, where I used to hang my sorority composite and paddle. Since I recently joined the mid-20's crowd, I decided it was time to retire the college decor.

For my gallery wall I used a combination of black and white frames. The reason? Because the furniture in my room is black and my desk is white. So I wanted to use the mix of wood colors to blend with my furniture.

When it came time to choose the new pieces, I wanted to include a little bit of DC, my favorite color, and of course the symbolic city of romance... Paris. I loved these three prints right off the bat, and they went well with the camera print that I already owned. Each piece has a meaning behind it. That's my biggest piece of advice for creating your own gallery wall.

I also have a larger gallery wall across from my bed that I've been adding to over the past year. I still need a few pieces for the bottom half, so I may just have to start skimming Minted's site once again.

Checkout Minted's newest prints here + all the services and products Minted offers, here.

Office Supplies Refresh with Office Depot

While there are millions of children and young adults heading back to school or off to college right now, there are many of us who aren't.

One of my favorite things growing up, and the only thing that made be excited for going back to school, was shopping for school supplies. I had to have the latest graphic folders, colorful binders and every Sharpie pen in stock. I loved school supplies.

My love for highlighters, pens and supplies definitely carried over into the real world with me. I still keep a paper planner, writing everything down with my favorite Sharpie pens + writing additional notes with colorful post-it notes. Call me old fashioned, but I love it!

While I may not be heading back to school, I have since then used August as the perfect excuse to restock and refresh my office supplies. Both at home and at the office.

I throw away worn out pens, restock the necessities and checkout the newest gadgets. I love efficiency, so anytime I can try out a product that makes work easier or faster, I'm totally on board.

Since it's August, I recently headed to my local Office Depot to do just that. I picked up a few things to help get my home office back in order. Like my favorite pens (purple of course), highlighters, erasers, post-its and more!

I found these really cool flag highlighters that take efficiency to a whole other level. Built onto the pen are colorful tabs that I can quickly pull off and mark a spot in my favorite magazine. Instead of pulling out recipes or inspiration, I can quickly tab off that page to remind me to go back. I also enjoy reading books that help me progress in life or my career. So I can now mark pages that I've highlighted, and can remember to go back to them later. I just love that I found this new product! It'd be great for those of you who read a lot of briefings, books, etc. for work.

So just because you're not heading back to school, jetting off to college, etc., it doesn't mean that you can't participate in the fun of getting new office supplies and refreshing your own office! Checkout all the supplies available at your local Office Depot or OfficeMax. They have everything you need!

Drybar Blonde Ale

Happy Tuesday y'all!! My sincerest apologies for the unannounced radio silence the past week or so. I usually try to give y'all some advance notice on these sort of blog breaks, but sometimes life just happens.

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball that you weren't anticipating, and all you can do is take a break from it all and focus on yourself. So that's exactly what I did! Only time can heal wounds, but for now I'm going to get back into my normal every day routine. That means a lot more time to work on creative blog content.

There are several new posts coming your way this week! Like a collaboration with Minted, an office supplies refresh post with Office Depot + sharing one of my favorite Southern traditions early next week.

As for today, I wanted to share with y'all a new line of products that I've found.

A few weeks ago I shared my hair tutorial, as well as the products I typically use. The key to maintaining my color treated hair is using products that cater to just that. I've used the same shampoo and conditioner for awhile now, but that was because there really wasn't anything else out there that catered to color treated hair... that worked for me.

Till now.

Recently, Drybar released a new product line that not only caters to color treated hair, but focuses solely on my particular hair color... blonde.

The three new products... Blonde Ale Shampoo, Conditioner, and Brightening Cream, were just released online and in stores.

Their focus?

To prevent color degradation of blonde and highlighted hair. The new Blonde Ale line helps enhance shine and keep hair luminous between color services. Which I definitely need.

I started trying out the new products a few weeks ago and really love the difference it has made. My hair feels smoother, looks shinier (in a good way of course), and the product smells great!

I recommend trying out the new Blonde Ale Line for yourself. You can purchase online or at your nearest Drybar salon!

The New Vera Bradley + Giveaway

I don't know about y'all, but growing up all I carried was Vera Bradley. My backpack. My purse. My makeup case. My lunch bag. Everything was Vera Bradley.

It was all about the latest and greatest print. The quilt fabric was easy to wash and take care of. I probably had two different pattern sets and owned just about every piece within each collection.

As I got older though, I tended to shift away from Vera Bradley. While I still carried the overnight bag on trips, and still laid out on a Vera beach towel, I had pretty much retired all my old pieces. The quilted pieces just didn't seem very post-grad to me.

Till now.

That's when I was introduced to the new Vera Bradley at this year's Southern Blog Society Conference. Now before some of you freak out, they still carry all their basic items for which they're known for.

Recently they have introduced a new line of products, made from different types of materials. Think leather clutches, bags and accessories. I love how Vera still incorporates their signature quilted pattern, like on this clutch.

I've carried the Quilted Harper Clutch several times since receiving it, and let me tell you. Everyone is shocked that it's Vera! Shocked, in a good way of course!

Another one of my favorite pieces to carry has been the Marrakesh Beads Tote Bag. I haven't stopped carrying it since bringing it home with me from SBScon. I use it as my daily work tote.

It's perfect for carrying all my necessities, lunch, and makeup for touching up after work before happy hour.

J.Crew Factory Dress, in-stores only // Sandals, old from Target // Necklace, old from LOFT

I also love the Slim Zip Wristlet, in the same Marrakesh Beads print. I use it for all my credit cards, rewards cards, checkbook, etc. I can easily throw it in my tote or take it out and throw in another bag.

You too can snag a Slim Zip Wristlet in the Midnight Snakeskin print for yourself!! All you have to do to win is enter using the Rafflecopter below. Wahhoo for a fun giveaway!!

Contest will run through Friday, August 21st at noon EST. Only open to residents of the continental U.S.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Y'all have no idea how long I've been waiting to write this post! Not just because the title of it is so perfect, but because I've been friends with the bride for almost 25 years.

This past weekend I headed down to Nashville to celebrate the now, Mr. and Mrs.!!

It was truly an amazing weekend. Everything was perfect. From the decor, to the food, to the Church and reception. Every detail was thought of, even the amazing weather. They couldn't have asked for a better day in Nashville. Not a cloud in the sky and almost zero humidity.

Aside from the details of course, the bride was the star of the show. Many tears were shed, but happy ones of course. My dear friend Ashton looked absolutely gorgeous and glowing. Her groom; handsome as always.

It was a fabulous weekend, with many amazing memories made. I'll let the photos speak for themselves, because they truly do. It was crazy how much we did in a less than 4 day trip, but I couldn't have asked for a better few days back in my home state.

To the bride and groom, Ashton and Ryan, I wish y'all many years of happiness! Thank you for letting me be apart of your special day. Love you both!!

My Favorite Things for August

I cannot believe we're entering yet another new month! Where has 2015 gone?! The year has really flown by, and before we know it we'll be making plans to ring in 2016. Crazy. BUT before we get too ahead of ourselves, we must first celebrate my favorite month.

August is amazing for many reasons, but most notably it's my birth month. I've got several fun posts (and giveaways) planned over the next few weeks to celebrate. Before we get into those, let's talk about some of my favorite things for this month. All of these items are great for the final full month of summer + those of you gearing up for heading back-to-school. To shop, you can simply click on the item in the picture below or one of the purple links.

For many of you, August means back to school, the start of a new job or venture. It also means transitioning into a new planner. I've tried many over the years, but recently stumbled upon a new fave. This ban.do planner is perfect for the twenty-something. It has plenty of space to write your daily tasks + events. I also like this option, because overall it has a more professional/adult feel to it than some of those planners we used in college. Yet I like how it still has a fun and colorful aspect to it as well.

To make sure I tackle all of my to-dos in my planner, I found the perfect notepad to organize all of my weekly tasks. The GSD (Get S*** Done) Master List by Meg Biram is an organizer's dream. You can breakdown the various tasks by categorizing them. Mine is broken up by work, blog, photos for posts, social media scheduling, personal and Taste of the South. That way you can focus on smaller, more individual lists, rather than three pages of gibberish. This is the perfect list organizer for your classes as well. Just assign one "to-do" box for each of your classes!

Some of my other favorite things for August are: Physicians Formula Argan Wear Bronzer, COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lip Gloss and Essie Peach Daiquiri. The bronzer is wonderful for finishing off your base makeup and smells incredible too. The CG lip gloss looks a lot darker than it actually is. I'd say it's a darker pink, but not as dark as the picture makes it seem. It's the perfect natural lip color enhancer. And y'all know how much I love this Essie polish. It's my summer go-to. I'll be enjoying this shade for the final few weeks before heading to my other go-to, hunter green!

You can keep all of these beauty products organized in my favorite makeup pouch. This pouch can hold all of my makeup and easily slips into my purse for after work touch-ups.

Too hold all of these items + more, I have really loved carrying this Vera Bradley tote. Y'all have seen it on my Instagram before, but I can't share enough how useful it is. I carry my planner, GSD master list, makeup pouch, portable charger + my lunch, in it every day. The tote is very durable and the lining inside is really easy to clean. This tote is great for work use or as your book bag for school.

I'm also really loving the new J.Crew arrivals. I've shared a few of my favorite pieces below! Most of these items will transition well into fall too.

That's it for August!! Happy shopping and have a wonderful start to the week! Xo
