Mad Men Style

Dress (available in stores, similar online) / Tights / Booties / Necklace (H&M, old) / Bangle (H&M, old) / Ring (NYC boutique, old)

One of my favorite shows on television is Mad Men. Ever since watching my first episode last year, I've been hooked. I seriously watched the first three seasons in a little over a week. One of the things I really enjoy about watching the show, is seeing how they recreate the fashion of that era. I love the bright colors and geometric patterns that are used, especially the ensembles Betty Draper dons each episode. So when I got invited to attend Yelp DC's Jet Set Fete this past Tuesday at the Grand Hyatt Washington, I jumped at the chance to create my own Mad Men inspired look. The attire for the event was smoking jackets for men, shift dresses and the like for women, making sure to pull inspiration from Don and Betty Draper. I found the perfect shift dress, with a fun geometric pattern at H&M for only $19 and snatched it right up!! The fabric is on the heavier side, so it is perfect for the cooling temps. I paired this dress with some fun shaped jewelry, Vera Wang tights and my favorite Ann Taylor booties. It was a fun evening at the Hyatt and thanks to Yelp for a fabulous lineup of restaurants, breweries, local businesses and more!

Happy Friday y'all! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! I'm off to Memphis for my sorority big sister's wedding!! Can't wait to share photos from her big day in an all new Over the Weekend on Monday.
