Happy Buttercup Day!!

It's no secret that I recently became a huge fan of Drybar blowouts. I spent a fun afternoon in Georgetown with my dear friend Breck from Whim of the South, beginning our fun day at the Georgetown Drybar location. Stylist Jonathan gave me a fabulous Cosmo-Tai, which was the perfect style for my long and thick blonde locks.

I've since then visited a few more times, enjoying a relaxing few hours away from work and blogging, sipping on whatever fun flavored water they've prepared that day, and chatting with the friendly stylists. I rarely get a few hours like this to myself, so all I want to do is relax and hopefully sip on a glass of wine. While a good portion of the 37 Drybar locations can serve spirits, [Drybar Bethesda] could not… until now! [I'll keep my fingers crossed that Drybar Georgetown will follow suit!]

Drybar founder, Alli Webb and her team developed The Drybar Bill, which would allow their Maryland locations the ability to serve of-age clients complimentary wine, beer and bubbly while having their hair styled. According to the recent press release, "the bill was developed by State Delegate Ariana Kelly, in partnership with Drybar regional manager Courtney Barfield, and was signed into law by Governor O'Malley on May 5 in Annapolis."

In honor of The Drybar Bill, Governor O'Malley also deemed July 1st Buttercup Day… named after  the company's mascot and blowdryer. "This is a fantastic day for Drybar," said Webb. "We love our Bethesda Barflys, and are thrilled that our team was able to work with the Delegate and the Governor on The Drybar Bill. We are truly humbled and honored by the declaration of Buttercup Day!"

So for all my Maryland friends you can now relax with a glass of your favorite bubbly or sip on some wine, all while getting a fabulous blowout by the stylists of Drybar. Hopefully us Washingtonians will be able to enjoy the same very soon!! [Fingers are crossed!!!]

Be sure to visit the Drybar site to find the closest location to you and read my recent Drybar post to learn more about this wonderful business.
